USA September 2023 Elk & Whitetail

Landing back into Dallas Texas USA to a heat wave of almost 40C or 100 + l thought, gee I hope it cools down soon in Colorado Flattops where l was going hunting Elk.

I had a long drive to Rifle CO from Tyler Texas. I planned a roundtrip via Wichita Falls TX, Amarillo TX, Pueblo CO, Salida CO, Leadville CO, Minturn CO, stopping at Grand Junction CO. Its such a beautiful drive and destinations stop over along the way.

In Leadville I managed a life long bucket list tick off by riding up front with the train driver of a Diesel Electric. I was speechless at the opportunity and the joy of that privilege.
