East Texas Whitetail Buck Rifle Season 2023

I wasn't able to connect with my Ravin X Bow during archery season... so in rifle season I had my new Fierce 30 Nosler topped of with a leupold Mark 5 HD scope and 180 grain projectles.

I was at Bruce Hunnicutts Texas Hog Hunting Outfitters ranch in East Texas hunting whitetails.

I have hunted with Bruce and his family for the last 7 years and always had a great experience.

This was no excption, there new facilities were amazing and so comoftable, just like a home away from home... just like family to be honest.

On my 2 nd day I was in my blind at 4 pm and it was muggy and a little slow, things picked and a few deer started funnling in to the field. Right on dark and about 5-10 minutes before lega shooting light ended a buck came in trailing does, I could see he was much widder than his ears so I got off a shot and hit him hard and he went straight done. As I walked over the 125 yards or so I was very happy to he was the split 2 buck as we called him.

I called Bruce and filled in the tag - another great buck from Bruces well managed ranch.
